Metro-Detroit (Remote)


Our client is a premier manufacturer of Specialty Fuels and is North America’s leading manufacturer of Test and Reference fuels for the automotive and industrial industry and they are looking to add an experienced and professional Account Manager to their team. As an Account Manager they will be responsible for saturating existing clients (80%) and new business development (20%) in the automotive specialty fuels industry.

The Account Manager must have three years of automotive sales experience and an Engineering Bachelor’s degree.

Account Manager Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required with a focus in chemistry or engineering preferred
  • Strong entrepreneurial skills and a natural ability to spot opportunities for revenue generation
  • Relevant industry experience and in-depth knowledge of the market preferred
  • Three to five years’ experience as an account manager, product manager or project leader in automotive, engineering, chemical manufacturing or supply chain
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet required deadlines

Account Manager Description:

  • Accountability to meet and exceed aggressive sales objectives and all aspects of customer management, development and sales in the Automotive Specialty Fuels industry
  • Deliver sales forecast and create new business to meet corporate profit and revenue goals with an emphasis on growth acceleration
  • Commission market research and analysis when required to develop viable business models and use to benchmark business position and potential in each market
  • Understand the needs of existing customers in each market segment to assure the business is meeting their product and service needs
  • Acquire new customers in new markets and new geographies and grow existing customer share in mature markets
  • Develop customer intimacy by forging relationships with strategic customers
  • Collaborate intimately with internal teams including R&D, manufacturing and supply chain while meeting customer needs 
  • Monitor business performance and activities using key metrics. Report a summary of progress against goals, monthly, to the Commercial Director
