My client is a recognized leader in the gaming and hospitality industry who is looking to add a Benefits Manager to their HR team. The Benefits Manager must bring a strategic mindset for analyzing the current approach and implementing solutions. They will serve as the subject matter expert for all company benefit programs, implement new wellness programs, and manage vendors. 

Benefits Manager must have at least 5+ years experience managing an entire benefits program 

Benefits Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business, or other related discipline
  • 10+ years of benefits experience, a union environment is a plus
  • 5+ years’ experience of benefits review, analysis, and input on strategy
  • 5+ years’ experience responsibility with successful administration of benefit plans
  • 4+ years in a leadership role
  • Experience with a significant hourly and part-time work force is preferred
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Ohio Lottery Commission (OLC) Non-Gaming Employee License

Benefits Manager Description:

  • Management and guidance of all benefits programs, including: 401(k), FSA/HSA/HRA programs, wellness programs, health and welfare plan designs and contributions, short and long-term disability, non-qualified deferred compensation, and other programs such as life insurance, critical illness insurance, and financial planning services
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all company benefits programs and be well versed in administration requirements for all benefits plans (e.g. medical, dental, vision, life, health savings accounts, retirement plans, and voluntary benefits offerings) in accordance with plan documents and agency policies and procedures
  • Collaborate and make recommendations on the development of a long-term benefits strategy, assist in designing market competitive benefits programs that meet organizational needs
  • Lead, manage, and provide direction for the benefits team and streamline and ensure timely benefits communications for open enrollment, quarterly wellness programs, and benefits eligibility
  • Oversee end to end processes ensuring implementation of ongoing process improvements, open enrollment programs, and vendor provided benefits administration
  • Responsible for all federal, state, and local compliance filings, reports, and audits, including 5500s, 1095Cs; internal controls, new hire/termination audits, and SOPs
  • Develop, maintain, and review SOPs for benefits invoice reconciliation, wellness program participation, and calculation of ROI on preventive programs
  • Provide budget oversight and cost management of operational invoices, premium, and claims. Communicate expected costs, including premium increases, out of pocket claims, and COBRA costs to business stakeholders, including the senior leadership team
  • Lead RFPs for benefits vendor selection, and contract renegotiations for current and future benefit providers
