Consulting Manager

Our client is a reputable, mid-sized accounting firm in Troy, MI looking to add an experienced and dynamic Consulting Manager to their team. The Consulting Manager will support company Shareholders and help clients optimize their business. They will take ownership of consulting projects in a variety of competencies, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, strategic transformation and planning, and others. The Consulting Manager will provide leadership and operational support, strategic guidance and drive the implementation of key team initiatives.

The Consulting Manager must have a MBA or CPA and at least eight (8) years of experience in a strategic consulting role.

Consulting Manager Requirements:

  • 8 – 10 years of experience in a strategic consulting role
  • Bachelor’s Degree (concentration/major in Finance or Accounting is preferred)
  • MBA or CPA
  • Experience working with clients on mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and other widescale projects
  • Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills; emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint with ability to quickly understand and interpret data/data environment to deliver best-in-class deliverables
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 30% of the time to meet client needs

Consulting Manager Description:

  • Partner with company Shareholders to support clientele through strategic consulting
  • Build, develop, and oversee team of strategic analysts; mentor and coach team members on research design, project execution, research analysis and reporting
  • Serve as the “face of the firm” for clients and provide exceptional customer service
  • Structure client deliverables and act as the point person for content and structure thinking
  • Develop and execute persuasive business case presentations
  • Design research plans and discover insights from data; provide excel-based data analysis and report design, content management, maintenance of key data attributes, and stakeholder support
  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams across all business segments and corporate functions
  • Continually develop technical knowledge and skills in the areas of strategy, M&A, and new ventures (e.g., financial modelling and valuation, research, project management)
  • Collaborate with key leaders during the annual strategic planning process to develop and evaluate strategic initiatives
  • Support business development and account management as needed
