Summary:

Our client is a well-established real estate investment company looking to add an experience and personable Director of Investor Relations to their team. The Director of Investor Relations will be responsible for planning, implementation and oversight of all aspects of investor relations policies, objectives and initiatives. He/she will participate in all aspects of Investor Relations and capital raising activities and must be able to interface with investors and convey information in a manner that is both digestible and representative of the company’s institutional pedigree.

The Director of Investor Relations must have five years of IR experience with in-house investor relations or within the investment banking division of a financial institution, real estate title and escrow department, or qualified intermediary a plus

Director of Investor Relations Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years related work experience
  • Relevant work experience with in-house investor relations or within the investment banking division of a financial institution, real estate title and escrow department, or qualified intermediary a plus
  • Familiarity with corporate investor relations functions and custodial accounts
  • Customer focus with passionate drive to deliver results above our customers’ expectations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and project follow through
  • Enjoy establishing positive working relationships with co-workers and external audiences
  • Enjoy performing under pressure, managing multiple tasks, and working under tight deadlines
  • Enjoy working in a team environment
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Word and Excel

Director of Investor Relations Description:

  • Planning, implementation and oversight of all aspects of investor relations policies, objectives and initiatives
  • Manage a dynamic team of Investor Relations Associates, Closing Specialists, Receptionists, and Administrative Assistants
  • Oversee staff and the processing of real estate transactions relating to 1031-exchange transactions and the coordination with qualified intermediaries, escrow, legal, and accounting professionals
  • Serve as the main contact between the company and internal  retail investors and shareholders, broker-dealers, financial advisors, custodians, and sales teams
  • Work closely across functions with accounting, financial and compliance departments to respond to general investor requests
  • Provide investor relations feedback to senior executives including any shareholder concerns and peer competitor actions that might impact the Company
  • Resolve retail investor/shareholder issues with accounts
  • Actively participate in the management and maintenance of existing investor relationships
  • Support the compiling of key messages to be conveyed to investors and support executive management with their investor communications
  • Maintain investor contact ("CRM") database
  • Assist in the preparation of internal and external communication materials (e.g. press releases, quarterly reports, Q&A materials, presentations, etc.)
  • Collaborate in developing and implementing best practices for the investor relations program, including messaging strategy, investor targeting, and communication practices
  • Serve as a liaison between Investor Relations and other internal entities
