Electronics Design Engineer
Auburn Hills, MI


Our client is a leader in the safety electronics industry who is looking to add an experienced and independent Electronics Design Engineer. The Electronics Design Engineer will be responsible for taking development projects from functional/cost target specification to production.

The Electronics Design Engineer must have two years’ experience with electronic design.

Electronics Design Engineer Requirements:

  • BSEE or MSEE or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to debug PCBs down to component level from schematics
  • Experience in designing and laying our PCBs
  • Self-starter with can-do attitude
  • Analytical approach
  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to manage the timely delivery of development project and work well within a team structure for project realization
  • Experience using OrCAD Capture and PCB Editor
  • RF/Wireless experience
  • Experience developing life safety and/or consumer products

Electronics Design Engineer Description:

  • Generating innovative product concepts and solutions
  • Electrical design from concept through to production
  • Schematic capture, simulation, PCB layout
  • Embedded software development in C and Assembly
  • Perform design validation testing
  • Preparing and release of component specification, Bill of Materials, and drawings
  • Specification of production test equipment
  • Provide engineering support for legacy product changes and/or enhancements in a manner consistent with corporate objectives
  • Maintain current knowledge of competitive technologies as it relates to company products
  • Provide technical oversight and manage external contractors and consultants as required
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, marketing, and quality assurance staff to coordinate the design transfer of new products into commercial production
  • Work closely with operations group through thorough DFM analysis and practices
