Executive Vice President of Finance
Birmingham, MI

Summary:

Our client is a private equity firm in Birmingham, MI looking to add an experienced and dynamic Executive Vice President of Finance to his Team. This Executive Vice President of Finance will work directly with the CEO assisting in multiple aspects of their finances including wealth management, financial planning, real estate, estate and retirement planning, insurance, contracts and other personal investments.

The Executive Vice President of Finance must have an MBA or Juris Doctorate with experience in M&A, due diligence, and investment banking

Executive Vice President of Finance Requirements:

  • 5+ years of investment banking, private equity, corporate M&A, corporate FP&A, public accounting or M&A law firm experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related area
  • MBA and/or Juris Doctorate is required
  • Previous experience within wealth management (banking) working with wealthy family or personal estates
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and US GAAP accounting
  • Capital markets, personal and corporate finance experience
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience raising funding, either equity or debt, is a plus
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, good communication skills and a high level of curiosity
  • Exceptional time management skills including ability to plan, execute, and deliver multiple concurrent projects in a timely manner
  • Very detail oriented with strong leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent analytical, written communication and organizational skills
  • Strong decision-making skills and high energy team player

Executive Vice President of Finance Description:

  • Business development and M&A, including due diligence, financial modeling, valuation and performance tracking
  • Investor relations, including market valuation, performance, investment management, earnings and investment presentations
  • Review all personal and corporate contracts to ensure compliance, limited liability and has the best interest of the company
  • Treasury, including funding strategy, capital structure, capital management and liquidity
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, forecasting, performance assessment, business reviews, margin analysis, capital expenditure management
  • Work directly with personal and company CPA’s and law firms

  • Evaluate performance compared to plan and to benchmarks
  • Design and develop performance improvement initiatives to help the company and its portfolio companies reduce costs and operate with best-in-class efficiency
  • Work with banks, private investment firms, and other financial institutions to make decisions around lending or other financial partnerships, including raising debt and equity
  • Understand the details of the sales strategies of the company’s portfolio companies, including assessing customer pipeline and current customer sales forecasts
