Industrial Engineering Manager

Sterling Heights, MI


Our client is a growing and fast paced joint venture between two major OEM suppliers that specializes in cockpits and interior and front-end modules. They are looking to add an experienced Industrial Engineering Manager to the team who will be responsible for leading project and engineering change management as well as the shop floor and method planning for processes, equipment, and materials.

Industrial Engineering Manager must have 5+ years of experience in a fast paced production or manufacturing work environment

Industrial Engineering Manager Requirements:

  • At least 5 years’ experience within the automotive industry
  • Project management and leadership experience relating to lean manufacturing and/or industrial engineering
  • Project Management experience related to preventative maintenance (PM scheduling), spare parts management, just in time sequencing, facilities management etc.
  • Must be production/operational based experience within a high volume facility (200-450K units/year); come from a Just In Time or sequencing facility
  • Knowledge of and hands on experience with automated equipment, tooling design, automated guide vehicles, electrical/PLC machinery – DC Atlas Copco fastening equipment preferred
  • Competitive personality; tough minded; able to handle and address problems

Industrial Engineering Manager Description:

  • Project Management for internal processes as well as complete projects (i.e. new cockpit or new line) in case of capacity problems in the region      
  • Layout planning and documentation in Auto CAD                                  
  • CAPEX specification, technical follow up, steering of the installation and spare part definition                          
  • Planning/adjustment of the preventive and corrective maintenance plan (incl. E-Check and PLC)                    
  • Engineering Change Management (ECR/ECO) incl. calculation, bill of material, material planning, etc. 
  • Process (assembly and logistics) and equipment FMEA                               
  • Responsibility for an utmost efficient industrial set-up in terms of capex and men and machine capacity 
  • Responsible for facilities management
  • Responsible for new product tooling specifications, write POs, and discuss new product process
