Mechanical Engineer

Aurora, IL & South Haven, MI

Summary:

Our client is a leading global supplier of innovative solutions for a broad range of applications such as automotive interiors, apparel, building materials, filtration, hygiene, medical, shoe components, and specialties. They are looking to have a Mechanical Engineer join their rotational program.

The Mechanical Engineer will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accredited School.

Mechanical Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering - Mechanical or Related Field at an Accredited University or College
  • Prior co-op or internship experience and/or relevant experience
  • Experience using 2D and 3D CAD software, preferably with Autodesk AutoCAD or Inventor
  • Must be able to relocate during the rotational program to various states (Illinois, Michigan); travel and living expenses will be covered
  • High social and intercultural competencies
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects and establish priority of projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form strong working relationships and communicate well with team members at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to be hands on within the plant floor
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and products

Mechanical Engineer Description:

  • Gain an understanding of the position, department, company as well as the production operations; further comprehend the dynamics of how production operations work and how the engineering department plays a part in the whole picture of the manufacturing of our product lines
  • Assist and participate on projects of various size and scope to include but not limited to engineering studies, specifications, cost estimating and start-  ups                                               
  • Become a valued team member that helps lead the business unit towards a lean manufacturing culture with the proper application of technology                            
  • Support all company safety objectives through modification or redesign of equipment
  • Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD and/or Inventor software
  • Assist with the installation, start up and validation of new machines
  • Work with engineering to validate production equipment
  • Develop production product specifications
  • Prioritize and complete assignments on time; work with process engineer to develop injection molding processes
  • Use inspection equipment to validate production product
  • Works with process engineering to ensure that products are optimally designed for manufacturing
