Parts Coordinator

Northville, MI

Summary:

Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of powertrain, body and chassis products, and in-vehicle entertainment and navigation systems company who is looking to add an experienced and professional Parts Coordinator to their team. The Parts Coordinator is responsible for placing orders for “parts” from other suppliers, then follow-up the orders until the parts are received.

The Parts Coordinator must have a minimum of an Associate degree.

Parts Coordinator Requirements:

  • Customer and team management experience
  • Automotive industry experience strongly desired
  • Written, verbal, and cross-cultural communication skills
  • Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office programs (might be migrating to a new tracking system)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong follow-up skills – persistent
  • Some technical familiarity might be helpful - since the “parts” are technical in nature

Parts Coordinator Description:

  • Contacting suppliers for parts availability and price
  • If it’s a new supplier, work with our accounting dept to have the new supplier placed into our accounting system
  • Creating P.O. requests
  • Working with our purchasing dept. to get the P.O.s issued to the suppliers
  • Tracking orders – maintaining a list of outstanding orders, expected shipping dates, etc.
  • Maintaining contact with suppliers to ensure that orders will be delivered on time
  • Tracking parts once received – who, within our organization, received the parts, etc.
