Job Description

Principal Duties

  • Provide business value by solving market problems that support first responder safety and day-to-day operations for Law Enforcement and Fire agencies.
  • Works directly with Enterprise Records Product Owners to understand user personas and business drivers to gather requirements.
  • Writes user stories to support user and business needs for feature scope and performs user acceptance testing to ensure build-out of functionality.
  • May research and analyze projects for new features based on system requirements defined by Product Owners.
  • Design requirements and documentation with foresight for the future maintainability and growth of the software.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner to manage a groomed backlog of work for Development and QA.
  • Clearly communicates ideas between Product, Development and QA and may interact with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Embrace learning, excited by challenges and maintains a growth mindset to gain expertise and grow in position.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Scope and Impact (Accountability)

The Product Analyst is expected to produce output on time and with a high-level of quality. Output impacts revenue and organizational growth, which in turn supports our Sales and Services organizations. The Enterprise Records team works in a fast-paced environment to support growing business objectives with a high degree of accountability. The Product Analyst directly contributes to this effort by providing context to requirements and contributes to backlog refinement. The Product Analyst works within a larger Product Team using pre-established processes.

Education, Experience and Special Skills

  • Bachelor's degree Computer Sciences, Management Information Science, or Business.  Equivalent work experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Prefer a minimum of 1 year of experience in software or related experience including but not limited to writing user stories and/or documenting client specifications.
  • Public Safety domain experience preferred.
  • Experience using Agile SCRUM development processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the full software development lifecycle and associated methodologies helpful.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills involving the ability to manage multiple work tasks effectively.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills involving communicating technical and non-technical information in writing and verbally.
  • Basic knowledge of data modeling, relational databases concepts, and understanding SQL queries.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team across functional groups.
  • Ability to be effective in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally if requested.
