Senior Accountant
Southfield, MI


Our client is a global manufacturing organization who is looking to add an exprienced and motivated Senior Accountant to their accounting team. The Senior Accountant performing the daily activities of the general accounting department including monitoring and analyzing general ledger accounts and financial statements, supporting external audit, tax package preparation, quarterly HFM package preparation and other ad hoc reporting requirements.

The Senior Accountant must have at least 3 years of experience in an accounting role and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.

Senior Accountant Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • MBA and/or CPA (preferred)
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in an accounting role
  • Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Experience working with SAP or other ERP (preferred)

Senior Accountant Description:

  • Preparation and analysis of monthly journal entries and reports
  • Analyzing company performance against predefined expectations; analyzing trends
  • Reviewing accounting to ensure compliance
  • Review cost and activity against predefined budget
  • Participation in the monthly general ledger close
  • Participation in the preparation of monthly financial package on a timely basis
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts
  • Providing support for quarterly and annual external audit
  • Routine accounting assignments
