Software Engineer - Connectivity

Northville, MI

Summary:

Our client is an industry leader in creating high quality in-car systems for major OEMs around the world who is looking to add an experienced and professional Software Engineer to the team. The Software Engineer will be technically leading an advanced engineering team related to connectivity functions to make a real impact on the automotive mobility of tomorrow.

Software Engineer must have 3+ years of software engineering experience related to connectivity

Software Engineer Requirements:

  • BSCS, BSEE, or equivalent training and experience in software development
  • Experience in connectivity development: AOSP Bluetooth, Wifi etc.
  • Proficient in the use of CAN tools (CANoe, Vehicle Spy etc.) and standard Android SDK platform tools
  • Working understanding of software design on automotive platform based on Android OS
  • Experience with Jira, Gerrit, and Agile Software Development
  • Experience in leading and developing embedded or systems engineering teams using ASPICE process
  • A comprehensive understanding of current and future automotive systems operation (e.g. eAVB, different flavors of CAN, Etc.).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and cross-cultural communication skills

Software Engineer Description:

  • Lead the connectivity team with SW development through full development life-cycle per ASPICE process
  • Assist team in modifying/implementing software design of Android applications for connectivity domain; BT, Wifi etc.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to evaluate, design, implement and integrate customer requirements
  • Provide S/W integration support to local engineers, customers, or off site teams
  • Capture and analyze bus logs, debug and provide root cause analysis on issues to the customer and the design center
  • Lead teams with release management, configuration management, and vehicle trouble shooting activities
  • Manage Software requirements, deliverables, and timings
  • Review quality related issues and provides initial approval of recommended improvements; identifies and implements process and product improvements, as needed
  • Investigates and follows up on major/non-routine customer field complaints; recommends and implements resolutions
  • Oversees, assigns and reviews work of lower level colleagues; coaches and provides guidance, feedback and on-the-job training
  • Lead issue tracking and progress tracking meetings with the supplier teams and the in house SW development team
