Our client is a private equity firm in Birmingham, MI looking to add an experienced and dynamic Financial Analyst to his Team. This Financial Analyst will work directly with the executive team on financial projects including financial forecasting, M&A due diligence, financial modeling, and valuation.

The Financial Analyst must have a high degree of financial acumen including experience with due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, and performance tracking

Financial Analyst Requirements:

  • 5+ years of investment banking, private equity, corporate M&A, corporate FP&A,  or public accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; MBA, MS Finance, or MS Accounting is required
  • Attained CPA or CFA certification preferred
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and US GAAP accounting
  • Capital markets and corporate finance experience
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, good communication skills and a high level of curiosity
  • Exceptional time management skills including ability to plan, execute, and deliver concurrent projects in a timely manner
  • Ability to create and analyze complex financial models
  • Very detail oriented with strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, written communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong decision making skills and high energy team player.
  • Must have an unbelievable work ethic.
  • Proven creative problem solving skills.
  • Ability to be mobile and travel regularly as needed.
  • Willing to do whatever is necessary to handle what is needed
  • Demonstrated experience with corporate finance principles including ability to perform balance sheet analysis, net income statement analysis, cash flow statement analysis, capital structure analysis, etc.
  • Critical thinking and inquisitive mind
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong modeling and financial valuation skills
  • Ability to ask critical questions from the client and gather data that effectively addresses the business problem
  • Ability to coordinate and manage tasks within a broader project

Financial Analyst Description:

  • Business development and M&A, including due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, and performance tracking
  • Investor relations, including market valuation, performance, investment management, earnings and investment presentations
  • Treasury, including funding strategy, capital structure, capital management and liquidity
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, forecasting, performance assessment, business reviews, margin analysis, capital expenditure management
  • Work directly with personal and company CPA’s and law firms
  • Discreet handling of confidential information
  • Evaluate performance compared to plan and to benchmarks.
  • Financial forecasting and modeling
  • Lead internal management reporting
  • Interpret and manage activity to support reporting by industry and other segmented approaches
  • Interpret business drivers and impact on results
  • Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed financial reports and statements
  • Support and prepare monthly performance reporting, charts, graphs, and metrics as identified
  • Provide divisional support with month-end, forecast, and budget reporting
  • Provide controllership functions in order to ensure finances are managed according to legislation, policies, procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Maintain strong communication between client and internal team
