Summary:

Our client is a leader in the automotive industry who is looking to add a Validation Engineer to their Advanced Development team. The Validation Engineer will lead validation efforts for Car Multimedia products

The Validation Engineer must have prior experience/exposure of device mirroring “edge case testing”?

Validation Engineer Requirements:

  • BSCS, BSEE or equivalent training in Software Development
  • Customer and team management experience required
  • 3 years minimum experience in embedded design/development and systems validation
  • Knowledge of Hardware in the loop testing
  • Proficient in the use of CAN tools (CaNoE, Vehicle Spy etc.) and standard Android SDK platform tools
  • Previous testing experience in automotive
  • Fluency in writing automated test scripts is desired
  • Working knowledge in open source Operating Systems is strongly desired (Linux, Android, , etc.)
  • Must have a comprehensive understanding of current and future automotive systems operation (e.g. eAVB, different flavors of CAN, Etc.)
  • Automotive industry experience strongly desired
  • Written, verbal, and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience with Jira, Gerrit, and Agile Software Development

Validation Engineer Description:

  • Lead validation efforts for Car Multimedia products
  • Plan and deliver to a software release schedule
  • Create, manage and execute test plans
  • Perform functionality and regression testing
  • Coordinate and track validation activities. This includes analyzing and tracking feature complexity and required hardware & software combinations for all relevant components
  • Oversees, assigns and reviews work of lower level colleagues. Coaches and provides guidance, feedback and on-the-job training
  • Develop and Maintain test methods and models
  • Automate test scripts and work with setups to execute test procedures
  • Capture data and coordinate with development team when necessary to achieve an acceptable solution for debugging/troubleshooting issues
  • Report issues
  • Generate and release test reports
  • Conduct validation review meetings
  • Participate in feature/system technical reviews as appropriate
  • Collaborate with Feature Owners to ensure requirements are comprehensive and testable.
  • Participate in system DFMEA & Fault Tree Analysis, incorporating findings and learnings into validation plans.
  • Drive understanding of system failure mode into validation plans with the objective of reducing safety or compliance recalls.
  • Review quality related issues and provide initial approval of recommended improvements. Identify and implement process and product improvements, as needed.
  • Investigate and follow up on major or non-routine customer field complaints. Recommends and implements issue reproduction methods
  • Lead validation team through full SW development life-cycle
  • Document and track issues, maintain the list through the life of the program
  • Provide regular status updates of task progression and open issues to manager for project planning, tracking and oversight
  • Work on quality, design, development and release of validation deliverables per ASPICE standards
  • Support teleconference meetings with our design team in Japan (typically outside of normal working hours)
  • Limited travel to Japan for meetings with our validation team.
  • Limited travel to customers’ sites for engineering meetings and presentations.
  • Analyzes current processes, procedures and systems and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.
  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Audio, Video and Communications group by analyzing current processes, procedures and systems and makes recommendations for improvement for own job.
