Our client is a marketing and communications firm who is looking to add an experienced and driven Vendor Manager (Digital). The Vendor Manager (Digital) will oversee the entire email marketing program including vendor selection, vendor management, set up, testing, and deployment of promotional, triggered, and transactional sends.

The Vendor Manager (Digital) must have comprehensive knowledge of programmatic buying, campaign management, audience segmentation, ad targeting, and optimization techniques.

Vendor Manager (Digital) Requirements:

  • 2 – 4 years’ experience in managing email marketing programs
  • High level of initiative, ability to drive performance and exceed goals independently as well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of email best practices, from subject line creation to email structure, all designed to drive performance
  • Subject matter expert level knowledge with an Email Service Provider
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Exact Target experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills; the ability to work with data efficiently and effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Statistics, Analytics, Data Science or another related field
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience planning, booking, managing, and optimizing campaigns within a leading Demand Side Platform (DSP) within a self-service capacity
  • Comprehensive knowledge of programmatic buying, campaign management, audience segmentation, ad targeting, and optimization techniques
  • Intimate knowledge of online video (OLV), private marketplaces (PMPs), Automated Guaranteed (AGs) deals
  • Problem-solving nature and deep curiosity to uncover the best solutions to help the client reach or exceed key performance indicators (KPI)
  • Demonstrate best practices in optimization techniques for both brand and direct response strategies
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions based on data
  • Understanding of the full life cycle of a campaign including but not limited to briefing, strategy, planning/buying, execution, and reporting

Vendor Manager (Digital) Description:

  • Ownership of the entire email marketing program including vendor selection, vendor management, set up, testing, and deployment of promotional, triggered, and transactional sends through Salesforce Marketing Cloud Exact Target
  • Development and execution of conversion rate optimization strategies within emails as well as A/B testing towards improved performance
  • Strategizing, developing, maintaining, and creating promotional offers that resonate with target audience
  • Partner with the creative team to drive the email creation for all campaigns by writing creative briefs and providing direction to ensure a high-converting experience
  • Work closely with performance marketing, business intelligence, and site management teams to support data-driven, lead nurturing email programs with a focus on high-converting users
  • Manage the performance of the email channel and make recommendations for enhanced testing based on segmentation and lifecycle stages
  • Support web and data collection points – ensuring best practices and following privacy policies and laws of the US
  • Conduct multivariate tests of customer segmentation, subject lines, time of send, content, landing pages and channel and recommend/execute responses to optimize campaign performance, customer value and retention
  • Develop and run dynamic customer journeys including trigger-based email programs
  • Build reports to analyze email performance and to uncover insights to develop strategic recommendations and communicate to key stakeholders within the organization.
  • Monitor and maintain top-level email indicators such as email subscription, legal compliance, and CRM strategies, to minimize list decay and unsubscribes
  • Execute SMS campaigns, scale and grow the SMS marketing efforts

Display Activities

  • Actively manage multiple campaigns and ensure performance is beating KPI goals and campaigns are delivering in full
  • Fully accountable for planning, activating, and optimizing programmatic campaigns
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and Associate Director on recommendations for executing/improving campaigns and to identify innovative programmatic solutions
  • Conduct regular performance analysis and communicate optimization recommendations in a clear, cogent fashion
  • Pinpoint trends in the data from DSPs and analytics suites/dashboards and turn them into actionable insights
  • Identify and deliver reporting needs that convey current performance and help find opportunities to deliver better results against campaign KPIs
  • Foster strong partnerships with our partners (technology, media, and analytics) for planning, campaign optimizations, and performance improvement
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of each client’s business beyond campaign objectives. Find opportunities to grow the account beyond existing strategies
  • Craft case studies on campaigns and initiatives that have exceeded performance goals and benchmarks regularly representing PBG activity
  • Properly track and handle billing/reconciliations on a regular basis with vendors and internal teams
  • Work with offshore team to address needs as it pertains to operationalizing/automating reporting from our various forms of buying and ad serving platforms
