Our client is a marketing and communications firm who is looking to add an experienced and driven Vendor Manager (Print). The Vendor Manager (Print) will be responsible for procuring, managing and supporting print and direct mail vendors. They’ll oversee capacity and budget planning, and our vendor’s adherence to key performance areas including, timeliness, price and print quality. The primary role for this position is to seek innovative methods to improve response rates and reduce costs.

The Vendor Manager (Print) must have at least 5 years of experience with print and mail production.

Vendor Manager (Print) Requirements:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in print and mail production
  • Knowledge of variable printing, including ink-jetting, tabbing and inserting equipment
  • Ability to coordinate activities across production departments
  • Familiarity with digital and offset printing
  • Previous management experience

Vendor Manager (Print) Description:

  • Develop the creative brief around budget, goals, etc. for each market
  • Maintain a quarterly budget – identify print vendors, maximize attempts with maximize results
  • Manage relationship(s) of the vendor(s) providing services and technologies
  • Identify opportunities for continual improvement to operational processes and expenses as it relates to transportation service
  • Manage the RFP process and work with vendors on proposal submissions, assisting with rate negotiations, as well as developing service terms and conditions for vendors
  • Manage vendors to achieve specified performance goals; ensure corrective actions are developed when performance does not meet targets and that the corrective actions result in performance improvements
  • Conduct annual site level contract adherence audits
  • Serve as the primary contact for issue notification, escalation, and resolution in day to day operations including monitoring of key performance indicators
  • Review and approve invoicing
  • Partner with cross-functional departments to make recommendations on current policies and procedures as well as day to day process improvement
  • Manage the print and mail production process to deliver accurate, quality jobs on time and on budget
  • Manage print, mail and fulfillment operations
  • Maintain production schedules
  • Guarantee quality control standards are met throughout the operation
  • Monitor production volumes hourly and ensure production goals are met
  • Effectively communicate across all levels within organization
  • Monitor and define workloads to ensure the timely execution of projects
