Assistant Engineering Manager
Novi, MI

Summary:

Our client is a world-class manufacturer of anti-vibration automotive components supplying companies such as Honda, Subaru, Nissan and Toyota. They are looking to add an experienced and professional Assistant Engineering Manager to their team. The Assistant Engineering Manager will serve as the engineering leader and technical expert to their product design team and to their customer’s engineering teams.

The Assistant Engineering Manager must have at least five years of automotive engineering design experience with rubber anti-vibration

Assistant Engineering Manager Requirements:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Master’s degree in engineering management or business administration preferred
  • 5+ years of automotive engineering experience with rubber anti-vibration
  • Experience using Catia V5 preferred
  • Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems
  • Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team and ability to lead technical discussions with customers
  • Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the entire engineering team on track
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
  • Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
  • Bilingual in English and Japanese preferred but not required

Assistant Engineering Manger Description:

  • The Assistant Engineering Manager will play a key role in the overall success of the organization by helping plan, manage, and monitor engineering functions and product design team
  • Responsible for assisting various engineering projects, processes, budgets, and timelines and making any necessary adjustments in order to ensure successful completion
  • Responsible for leading communications with the customers; communications will range from detailed technical discussions, negotiations as well as formal presentations to customer engineering.
  • Answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the customer’s engineering team
  • Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by
  • Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects
  • Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff
  • Monitor and determine various staffing and training needs
  • Hire, train, and supervise engineering staff members
  • Spearhead various research and development initiatives to identify opportunities for new projects and improved processes
  • Gain further business with Ford to develop relationships with engineers by understanding and developing products
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal management team members, suppliers, and customer engineering
  • Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and to customers
