Automation Program Manager

Chesterfield, MI


Our client is a growing plastic injection molding company who is looking to add an experienced Automation Program Manager to their team. The Automation Program Manager will be responsible for identifying best practices for prototyping and production and also researching and developing innovative technologies and methods to grow the overall business.

Automation Program Manager must have 8+ years’ experience with automation within an automotive manufacturing environment

Automation Program Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field
  • Several years’ experience within automotive manufacturing
  • Experience managing, planning, and developing new projects
  • Strong automation experience (6 axis robots, programming, etc.)
  • Familiarity with plastic injection molding strongly desired
  • Ability to see the big picture, creative and entrepreneurial mindset

Automation Program Manager Description:

  • Works with engineering team to ensure automation design concepts are consistent with the project scope and are capable of satisfying all project requirements
  • Establishes all key project milestones to drive progress towards automation/secondary equipment completion
  • Leads all on-site start-up and debug associated with customer-attended run at rates
  • Assist Cost estimating with obtaining supplier quotes that meet customer requirements and adhere to company Automation Build Standards
  • Develop and maintain corporate-wide Automation Build Standards
