Our client is a global manufacturer of quality interconnection products looking to add a Business Development Associate to the team. The Business Development Associate will be responsible to secure new connector opportunities with existing and new customers by identifying customer product and technology needs

Business Development Associate must have 2+ years in Technical Sales

Business Development Associate Requirements:

  • Four year degree in business or electronics engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2-10 years’ experience in a technical sales preferably in connector and terminal systems or electronic components through distribution or contract manufacturing services
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong business relationships with key decision makers
  • Possess a working knowledge of P&L drivers
  • Open and honest communication
  • Proficient with a  PC, especially Microsoft Office applications
  • Travel as necessary (~ 25% to 50% travel)

Business Development Associate Description:

  • Secure new connector opportunities with existing and new customers by identifying customer new product and technology with connector requirement
  • Develop relationships at all levels within the customers or prospects organization and leverage those relationships as necessary to secure new business
  • Develop customer profile with detail product and technology related to connector application
  • Responsible for the complete sales cycle to generate and close new business opportunities (custom design or catalog items) which includes but is not limited to:
    • Prospecting and Business Development activities through:
      • Visiting or making contact with existing “active or growth” customers outlined in the Territory matrix on a weekly or customer appropriate basis to maintain visibility and to uncover new opportunities
      • Networking with colleagues and business professionals to identify new prospects and business development opportunities
      • Attending trade conferences and expos
      • Setting up product design/technology exhibits/open house events to promote product line at either the customer
      • Mass media; trade journals, newspapers, radio, etc. – Look to stay informed and possibly market through them
