Director of Procurement
Scottsdale, AZ

Summary:
Our client is a growing company who is looking to add a Procurement Director to their finance leadership team. The Director of Procurement will be responsible for developing and implementing company policy, providing expert advice on all purchasing and contracting decision, negotiating large purchases, and responding to any claims regarding contract law violation.

The Director of Procurement will ideally have experience working in a retail or multi-site environment.

Director of Procurement Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in Procurement, Operations, Finance or related area, including 3 years of leadership experience with direct report responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience leading change and organizational growth
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and working closely with senior leadership teams

Director of Procurement Description:

  • Responsible for establishing the strategic visions, goals and objectives for the Procurement function and focusing the organization on the highest value opportunities and delivering value
  • Manage the operations of the Procurement Department to ensure that the material and service requirements of the organization are met in a cost-effective, timely, efficient and ethical manner
  • Innovates, champions, and implements continuous improvement opportunities in Procurement’s processes, procedures and systems. Evaluate, make recommendations, and develop system-wide procurement policies and procedures for the implementation of standards that represent best procurement methods while conforming to state statutes, regulations and laws governing universities
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with senior management, business units, and strategic supplier partners. Promote and maintain the good name of the company while conducting business in an ethical and professional manner to ensure avoidance of all actual and potential conflicts of interest
  • Manage and/or execute all purchases, within approved signature authority guidelines, in a centralized environment, including high dollar value and/or highly complex purchases. Also responsible for the management, execution and administration of complex high dollar value equipment purchases such as major computer software and hardware, specialty vehicles and research equipment
  • Prepare, administer and manage departmental budget on an annual basis
  • Analyze and identify future budgetary requirements required to achieve department missions
