Job Description

Position: Technical Service Application Engineer 
Location: Midwest U.S. 


Our client is a chemical supplier to the metal finishing industry with leading edge technologies and services, manufacturing products to the very highest quality standards. They are looking to add a Technical Service Application Engineer to their team to cover their Midwest United States territory. This is a home office role with travel throughout the Midwest territory to current and potential customers.

The Technical Service Application Engineer must have a Technical degree OR 5+ years of relative experience

Technical Service Application Engineer Requirements:

  • Technical Bachelor’s degree
  • Must be a self-starter, must be motivated by customer satisfaction, have good communication skills at all levels, must be able to travel overnight on a regular basis, must enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Experience working in the plating and metal finishing industry or related field preferred
  • Experience working in outside sales preferred
  • Knowledge of performing lab analysis and familiarity with using lab equipment in the plating industry plus

Technical Service Application Engineer Description:

  • Technical Support of company products, in the surface finishing industry
  • Solve customer problems and work under pressure with a restricted time frame
  • Expand the company business in the market place
  • Visit existing and new customers on a regular basis and respond to their requirements and needs, such as technical service, solving technical, operation, chemistry, and process issues
  • Prepare product development project objectives and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to market
  • Contribute to bottom line results that require high levels of teamwork and planning, communication and implementation skills
  • Assist in setting business priorities and implementing business plans, including consolidation of customer processes
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and standardize them
  • Assist with the information on customer orders to customer service that affects and impacts the inventory
  • Assist in periodic customer auditing review to determine any CAR issues
