Technical Sales Representative 
Southeast U.S. 

Summary:

Our client is a chemical supplier to the metal finishing industry with leading edge technologies and services, manufacturing products to the very highest quality standards. They are looking to add a Technical Sales Representative to their team to cover their southeastern Unites States territory. This is a home office role with travel throughout the SE territory to current and potential customers. A company car would be provided.

The Technical Sales Representative must have a Technical degree OR 5+ years of relative experience

Technical Sales Representative Requirements:

  • Must be a self-starter, must be motivated by customer satisfaction, have good communication skills at all levels, must be able to travel overnight on a regular basis, must enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Experience working in the plating and metal finishing industry (preferred)  
  • Experience working in outside sales (preferred)
  • Knowledge of performing lab analysis and familiarity with using lab equipment in the plating industry (preferred)

Technical Sales Representative Description:

  • The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for sales and service in a specified territory. The territory that is currently open is in the Southeast United States, (North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama)
  • The individual will be responsible for maintenance of existing accounts along with increasing market share in the territory
  • He/she will be responsible for identifying and communicating the status and trends within the territory to the Sales Manager
  • It is essential that the Technical Sales Representative be able to identify and communicate customer needs to the Customer Service Department and Sales Manager
  • Chemical Sales of company products, in the surface finishing industry
  • Expand the company business in the market place
  • Visit existing and new customers on a weekly basis and respond to their requirements and needs, such as technical service, solving technical, operation, chemistry, and process issues
  • Participate in marketing analysis to develop new product definitions as well as continual assessment of existing products’ position in marketplace
  • Prepare product development project objectives and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to market
  • Contribute to bottom line results that require high levels of teamwork and planning, communication and implementation skills
  • Assist in setting business priorities and implementing business plans, including consolidation of customer processes
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and standardize them
  • Visit customers on a regular basis for technical support
  • Assist with the information on customer orders to customer service that affects and impacts the inventory
  • Assist in periodic customer auditing review to determine any CAR issues
