Field Application Engineer
Greater Detroit Area

Summary:

Our client is a growing company who is looking to add an experienced and professional Field Application Engineer to the team. As part of the team, the Field Application Engineer is responsible for interfacing with tier 1 suppliers and OEM customers to present technical solutions that will result in new business opportunities and build relationships. This position reports to the Senior Key account manager and serves as an individual contributor.

Field Application Engineer must have 5+ years of automotive application engineering experience

“Field Application Engineer” Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar degree
  • 5 years of experience as a field application engineer
  • Min. 2 years of relevant work experience in engineering and automotive industry
  • Proficient in LiDAR, optics, data conversion designs, and knowledgeable of precision measurement and sensor systems in automotive applications
  • Be willing to travel frequently
  • Great communication skills (written and verbal)

“Field Application Engineer” Description:

  • Support the sales force and business development (BDM) (85%)
  • Understand the business at assigned region/accounts and the competitive landscape, participate in developing accounts penetration strategies and continuously work on differentiating Leddartech’s solutions
  • Provide support for sales and business development activities related to products (technical representation on products, identification of needs, and identification of additional sales opportunities - "upsell").
  • Provide customer support for product integration, according to guidelines or level of customer support.
  • Visit key customers and attend sales meetings and attend trade shows;
  • Produce the documentation and pre-sales and after-sales tools necessary for marketing
  • Participate in the content of our commercial offers (eg technical proposals and project plans / SOW)
  • Involvement in the after-sales service processes
  • Supports the marketing team in writing or reviewing content (application notes, customer stories, blog articles, FAQs, wiki, etc.)
  • Product Management (10%)
  • Collect and document information that allows products to meet the needs of the market
  • Collaborate in the development of the organization (5%)
  • Participates in meetings relevant to his function
  • Provides collaboration to co-workers
  • Collaborates in the administrative procedures of the organization
  • Keeps up to date with current market trends
