Summary:

Our client is one of Michigan’s largest food management companies and is looking to add an experienced and professional HR Generalist to their team. As an HR Generalist, they will serve as a consultant to management on human resources-related issues to an assigned business division within the organization.

The HR Generalist must be high energy and comfortable dealing with employees at multiple locations.

HR Generalist Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • Human Resources Generalist experience preferred.
  • PHR certification or similar preferred.
  • Technical HR knowledge. Examples include: employment laws, staffing and selection, performance management, training and development, etc.
  • Ability to travel up to 20-50% of the time to multiple work locations spread throughout Southeast Michigan

HR Generalist Description:

  • The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) serves as a consultant to management on human resources-related issues to an assigned business division within the organization
  • A successful HRG will act as an employee champion and change agent and anticipates HR-related needs
  • Carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: performance management, employee relations, policy implementation, training and development, on-boarding, recruiting plans and employment compliance
  • Supports the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization
  • Performance Management & Development: Participate in developing division objectives to exceed the Organization’s goals. Participates in evaluation and monitoring how successful our on-boarding and training programs are. Assist with the development and monitoring of employee succession planning and career paths.
  • Employee Relations: Manages and resolves employee relations issues through coaching. Assist management in developing their skills to effectively and proactively coach their subordinates. Conduct objective investigations in response to internal complaints and facilitate compliant resolutions. Review involuntary separations and disciplinary decisions for fairness, consistency, and potential legal liability
  • Policy Implementation & Compliance: Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures. Administer various human resource plans and procedures for the division through guidance and interpretation. Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the division. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment.
  • Other (Non-Essential) Duties and Responsibilities: Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. Assist with HR projects, training's, etc.
