Industrial Engineer
Westland, MI


Our client is a supply packaging company for the automotive industry looking to add an Industrial Engineer to the team. As part of the team, the Industrial Engineer will be responsible for assisting in determining the most cost-effective methods to warehouse, package and distribute automotive services parts in multiple facilities. This will include improving existing processes in order to reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability.

The Industrial Engineer must have at least two years of Industrial Engineering experience  

Industrial Engineer Requirements:

  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Ability to work and communicate in a project team
  • Knowledge labor standards, time studies
  • Sound knowledge of lean principles
  • CAD experience a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel and Access)
  • Legally allowed to work in the U.S. (no relocation or sponsorship available)
  • Non-smoker (must pass pre-employment drug screen for nicotine)

Industrial Engineer Description:

  • Perform time studies and develop labor rates
  • Establish and document standardize work methods and standards
  • Optimize ergonomically efficient plant layout and in-plant material flow
  • Continuous improvement and problem-solving activities
  • Warehouse design and improve space utilization
  • Conduct capacity analyses and layout / material flow analyses
