Installation Engineer
Murfreesboro, TN


Our client specializes in turn-key robotic and control solutions.  They are looking to add an Installation Engineer to their team who will be responsible ensuring equipment readiness for follow-on activities and is ultimately responsible for ensuring the equipment functions per the design.

Installation Engineer must have at least two years of experience in a technical environment

Installation Engineer Requirements:

  • Intermediate PLC Knowledge
  • Ability to read both electrical and mechanical prints
  • Basic troubleshooting principles; ability to understand and troubleshoot electrical issues
  • Understanding and execution of communication and leadership principles
  • Ability to multi-task and sequence activities for maximum efficiency
  • Basic electrical AC/DC circuits
  • Ability to understand controls
  • Basic mechanical engineering principles
  • Basic understanding of fluid mechanics and control
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a technical environment
  • Ability to lead and function in a team environment
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot software issues

Installation Engineer Description:

  • Ability to support approximately 60-75% travel
  • Daily reporting of objectives, accomplishments, barriers, and opportunities per SAC template
  • Coordinate activities with Electrical, Installation, and Process Engineering to ensure equipment functions as required
  • Resolve technical issues that arise during debug and system start up
  • Identify and/or redline changes on drawing packages
  • Provide equipment start-up support as required
  • Participate in equipment training to become technical Subject Matter Expert
  • Participate in professional development training and apply skills to represent SAC well to the customer
  • Coordinate activities with Software Engineering/Process Engineering to ensure equipment functions
  • Identify part shortages and overages and feed information back to SAC engineering for continuous improvement and cost saving
  • Modify PLC logic to work with design specifications
  • Modify GUI (Paintworks, HMIs, etc.) to work with design specifications
  • Verify and validate system (PLC/GUI/robot) with use of a System Verification Manual
  • Inventory parts and materials
  • Organize materials to facilitate installation plan
  • Coordinate and execute all pre-installation checks (wiring, clearances, etc.)
  • Coordinate with the customer all required plant safety requirements
  • Coordinate with the customer and Project Manager all requirements for site access
  • Coordinate and support sub-contracted trade activities during installation phase
