Our client is a growing company who is looking to add an experienced and professional Payroll Manager. The Payroll Manager should be detail oriented and very organized that can effectively and accurately process bi-weekly payroll for all employees.

Payroll Manager must have at least 7 years’ experience managing payroll

Payroll Manager Requirements:

  • Experience managing multiple payrolls within a larger organization with both exempt and non-exempt employees
  • Experience creating new payroll processes
  • Maintain urgency and professionalism in their communication and work
  • 7 years of management of HR or a part of HR that includes payroll or other types of HR processing.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large multi-departmental projects.
  • Experience in developing and monitoring quality and other performance metrics for a processing environment.
  • Experience processing payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and conflict resolution skills; ability to communicate effectively with business leaders and employees in their own terms providing the basis for influence and insight.
  • Exceptional business acumen; understands industry trends, business metrics and how department goals integrate with company objectives.
  • Must be high energy with the proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Experience with change and project management.
  • Experience managing multiple payrolls at one time
  • Knowledgeable and familiar with payroll systems; Dominion is preferred
  • Detail oriented and organized in their work
  • Able to integrate new employees in the payroll system
  • Process improvement focused; looks for ways to improve efficiency and save money
  • Able to communicate effectively and quickly
  • Certified Payroll Professional Preffered
  • Shared services & multi-state payroll experience
  • Payroll tax experience
  • Process controls and standardization experience
  • Metrics reporting experience
  • Strong accounting and financial skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Payroll Manager Description:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for all 3 companies; including exempt and non-exempt employees
  • Maintains payroll information by designing systems, directing the collection, calculation, and entry of HR/Payroll data.
  • Manages all operational controls related to teammate data and regulatory compliance, reviewing and approving all key and standard controls in accordance with risk and audit controls.
  • Ensures teammates are paid accurately and timely by directing the production and issuance of pay.
  • Identifies, proposes and pursues payroll related activities to deliver payroll with operational excellence.
  • Timely analyzes, researches and/or responds to escalated payroll related issues with quality resolution.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  • Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of teammate federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
  • Oversees the management of payroll account reconciliations by resolving payroll discrepancies.
  • Safeguards payroll information by following internal data security guidelines.
  • Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Complies with and maintains knowledge of federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation including all wage and hour laws; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains teammate confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Maintains and fosters a positive customer service, collaborative and continuous improvement environment.
