Our client is a world leader in the design, engineering, production, and technical support of military and special purpose vehicles who is looking to add a Product Engineer II to the team. The Product Engineer II is responsible for the design, redesign, and development of existing and current military vehicles. This individual will have an electrical component focus.

Product Engineer II must have 3+ years of experience with electrical components

Product Engineer II Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in in Electrical Engineering
  • 3 or more years of engineering experience including vehicle design, testing, and overall development
  • Basic CAD experience; able to navigate program and make changes to designs
  • Vehicle component experience (mechanical and electrical)

Product Engineer II Description:

  • Internal contacts include management and support personnel in Engineering, Design, Product Assurance, Configuration, Integrated Logistics Support, Cost Estimating, Safety, Experimental Shop Operations and Production personnel
  • External contacts include interfacing with personnel representing vendors and subcontractors, test directors and testing facilities, Tank Automotive and Armaments Command officials (TACOM), and/or military and government agencies
  • Shares in the responsibility for the engineering content of major vehicle components with potential vehicle sales in the multi-million-dollar category
  • Assists in establishing design parameters to achieve most cost effective approach consistent with the end item of the customer’s specifications, performance and reliability objectives, under general supervision.  Ensures that product meets Federal, State, local, and military regulations for such items as safety and emission standards
  • Establishes design through calculations, analysis, and various design verification techniques.  Approves releasing engineering designs at experimental, test or development phases of the program
  • Determines test requirement.  Oversees or may assist in set-up and monitoring of the testing program.  Analyzes and evaluates test results to determine acceptability or needed modifications in meeting customer specifications
  • Maintains contact with vendors and subcontractors to keep abreast of new materials, products, sources, pricing, and lead-time requirements.  Solicits vendor knowledge and participation in product standardization and cost reduction
