Project Engineer
Troy, MI

Summary:

Our client is a leading manufacturer of flexible metal components for the automotive industry and heavy duty machinery who is looking to add an experienced and professional Project Engineer to their team. As a Project Engineer, they will be responsible for coordinating and managing projects for their full life-cycle through direct communication with customers and the design team.  

The Project Engineer must have an engineering degree and previous design experience or exposure as a Project or Program Engineer

Project Engineer Requirements:

  • Engineering degree
  • Strong knowledge of current use & leading edge technologies
  • Able to learn about new products / technologies quickly
  • Knowledge of OEM and Tier 1 environments
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with customer contract
  • Computer literate
  • Able to react quickly when a crisis arises

Project Engineer Description:

  • Maintain regular contact with the Customer Project Team
  • Manage projects with help of sales from start through production
  • Set-up and attend design review meetings with the customer
  • Write meeting minutes and distribute to the appropriate team members
  • Document all proposed design changes
  • Be present for PSO and PPAP builds
  • Work in conjunction with the project team to develop the PPAP documentation for every program
  • Review documents with customers and relay any changes to the team or quality manager for correction
  • Maintain Project Books through APQP 
  • Basic Design Calculations
  • Review of all calculations prepared by R&D
  • Presentation of Test Results to Customers
  • Understand the design loop of products and be able to communicate/present them to customers
  • Preparation/Support of quote packages
  • Participate in and track project open issues for all projects
