Our client is a growing lightweight technology development company who is looking to add an experienced and professional Project Manager to the team. As a Project Manager they will be managing 4 to 5 medium to large scope, moderately complex projects applying systems engineer and project management methodologies.

Project Manager must have 5-10 years’ experience developing new manufacturing technologies from concept to release

Project Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required preferred to be in Welding, metallurgical/materials, or mechanical engineering
  • 5-7 years Project Management experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment 
  • 4-5 years of experience in R&D environment with an emphasis on developing new technologies and/or manufacturing processes for commercialization
  • Solid understanding of system engineering principles and procedures 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage government projects and adhere to government requirements

Project Manager Description:

  • Manage 4 to 5 medium to large scope, moderately complex projects applying systems engineering and project management methodologies
  • Schedule, plan and facilitate regularly scheduled project meetings, monthly CTO reviews and quarterly report preparation
  • Develop, organize, monitor and update project related documentation including Full Work Plan (FWP), project management plan, spend plan, schedule, milestones & exit criteria, risk management and issue tracking, and technology transition plan 
  • Apply organizational standard project management practices for project initiation, planning, estimating, executing, monitoring/controlling, and closing out to deliver projects within scope, on-time, on-budget, and according to client requirements
  • Provides input and guidance to project teams beginning with the white paper (WP) development process through the completion of the Full Work Plan development process including issuing of sub-awards. 
  • Collaborates with clients, engineers, technicians, managers, and other project stakeholders to achieve project objectives; work with and support engineers, technicians, and engineering managers across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Completes project close-out activities, including documenting relevant project data in the Project Management Plan, preparing documents for archiving, communicating lessons learned to stakeholders, and incorporating lessons learned into processes as appropriate
  • Prepares and/or reviews complex progress and technical reports, delivers status and summary presentations to customers and Compiles, analyzes, and presents project metrics
