Quality Engineer
Troy, MI

Summary:

Our client is a leading supplier in the fields of engine test systems, driveline test systems, brake test systems, wind tunnel balances and emissions test systems who is looking to add an experienced and professional Quality Engineer to their team. As a Quality Engineer, they will lead quality activities and projects with the objective of driving sustainable, continuous improvement.

The Quality Engineer must have a Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification and knowledge of Six Sigma tools.

Quality Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) preferable within an engineering related field of study
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification is a plus
  • Ability to conduct value stream mapping, 5S, SIPOC, and 5Why analyses
  • Three years of experience working in a quality role within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 and ISO 14001-2015 concepts and auditing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical process control preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus

Quality Engineer Description:

  • Implements and improves procedures to increase process efficiency, reduce costs and improve quality throughout the organization
  • Ensures internal audit program in in compliance with the current Quality and Environmental ISO Standard
  • Plans and conducts internal and supplier audits to Quality and Environmental system requirements
  • Measures effectiveness of corrective/preventive actions and procedures performance metrics to department management
  • Addresses quality issues pertaining to the processes and products and reviews trends based on Nonconforming Material Report results
  • Helps drive corrective actions required to resolve CAPA’s and audits findings; performs root cause analyses as needed
  • Identifies, collects, and reports on trending analyses taken at key steps in the manufacturing and service areas
  • Collects and reports on quality KPI’s
  • Completes Quality audit reports, prepares for and participates in supplier visits, supplier audits, and reviews corrective action evidence for effectiveness
  • Responsible for analyzing any 862 and 850 releases in preparation of future OEM shipments to customers.
  • Responsible for processing any expedites as requested to meet customer requirement changes.
