Sales Engineer

Canton, MI

Summary:

Our client is a growing company who is looking to add a professional Sales Engineer. As the Sales Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the reputation by expanding market awareness of the company’s products and expertise; managing projects and relationships with customers; and brining critical customer requirements back into the development, production, and marketing processes

Sales Engineer must have 1-3 years of technical sales experience

Sales Engineer Requirements:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent
  • Tool & Die or Stamping background with strong troubleshooting skills preferred
  • Hands on with high level of Technical/Mechanical aptitude
  • At least 1 year experience in Technical Sales Role
  • Ability to travel 1 to 2 weeks per month
  • Fluency in Spanish/French preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Sales Engineer Description:

  • Meeting with customers over the phone, email, or on site to assist in technical aspects of business development
  • Making technical presentations and demonstrating how our products meet client needs
  • Managing and interpreting customer requirements - speaking with clients to understand and anticipate their needs
  • Generating technical sales proposals and contracts (Statement of Work, Services Proposals)
  • Researching options or custom solutions;
  • Supporting and training customers during startup of new applications
  • Managing customer claims and helping in technical problem resolution
  • Training and supporting new and existing distributors
  • Maintaining records of customer communication and sales activity in CRM and internal communication systems
  • Working with the application & engineering team to ensure schedules and deliveries are being met
  • Attending and/or participating in trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events
  • Searching for new clients who might benefit from company products or services
