Sr. Body Closures Design Release Engineer

Summary:

Our client is a well-established international company with strong experience in the automotive sector and is looking to add a professional and experienced Sr. Body Closures Design Release Engineer? to their team. They will be responsible for the design and development of interiors and exterior for their automotive sector. The Sr. Body Closures Design Release Engineer will work strictly together with the product manager and the CTO as an important member of the development and production process.

The Sr. Body Closures Design Release Engineer must have 3 plus years of experience with CATIA and the ability and wiliness to travel to California for long periods of time

Sr. Body Closures Design Release Engineer Requirements:

  • Associates Degree
  • 3-5 Plus Years Sheet Metal / Hardware / Seals Design Release Engineering experience
  • 3-5 Plus Years of Component Design/Engineering Development
  • Good analytical skills for calculating simple structures, or perform using CAE
  • Experience or knowledge of root cause analysis or Design of Experiment
  • Previous OEM and automotive experience required
  • Previous Design Release Engineer experience in Product Engineering required
  • Previous assembly plant launch experience required
  • Dimensional Management and Dimensional Checking experience preferred
  • Understanding of GD&T required
  • Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
  • Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
  • Experience with Frameless Door Systems preferred
  • Experience in developing and working Criteria Development Section (Typical Sections)
  • Experience or knowledge of forming processes such as stamping, injection moldings, casting, and extrusions

Sr. Body Closures Design Release Engineer Description:

  • Senior Design Release Engineer responsible for Closures Door-In-White, and Hardware and Seals
  • Manage parts from initial design, to prototype phase, and production
  • Create and manage EBOM (Engineering Bill of Materials), including material selection and finish
  • Coordinate release of engineering changes, and appropriate documentation
  • Apply budget constraints as part of the engineering design process
  • Able to work within a cross-functional team to achieve goals
  • Verify styling theme feasibility (manufacturing, ergonomic, service, safety, regulatory etc.)
  • Able to work closely with suppliers to achieve goals
  • Track open issues via issue tracking process, drive communication to closure of issues
  • Plan for parts timing alignment with overall program timing plan
  • Coordinate testing to validate seal design
