Sr. Quality Engineer
Redford, MI


Our client is a highly reputable OEM who develop the world's most advanced automotive technology and vehicle design with luxury and style. They are looking to add an experienced and professional Sr. Quality Engineer to their team. The Sr. Quality Engineer will be responsible for providing support to the Lifecycle Quality function with a focus in powertrain and eDrive.

The Sr. Quality Engineer must have at least five years’ quality experience and be ISO 9001 certified

Job Title Requirements:

  • The candidate is expected to provide leadership for the quality processes to ensure our products and services meet or exceed our customers' expectations.
  • The position requires interfacing with customers, suppliers, and upper management to present status of projects, discuss problem areas, and propose solutions.
  • Technical knowledge (statistics, product design, manufacturing, Six Sigma) and management skills are necessary to be successful in this position.     
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, or Science
  • 5 years of Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, or related experience
  • Experience with quality improvement tools and techniques (i.e., DFSS, Six Sigma, Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA, QFD, Shainin, etc.). 
  • Sound knowledge of statistical methods
  • Certification & experience as a qualified internal auditor for ISO 9001 is a MUST

Job Title Description:

  • For new product designs: Perform/review pre-release analysis of design compared to production capability.           
  • For prototype and production products: review actual key dimensions vs. design specifications.  
  • Perform audits at suppliers, audit internal processes, and lead Milestone Reviews
  • Lead DREs through the DFMEA process.  
  • Lead problem resolution activities (8D, Six Sigma DMAIC).            
  • Report status of corrective and preventive actions  
  • Perform measurement system capability analysis when necessary.   
  • Oversee the effective documentation and implementation of the quality management system to assure compliance with regulatory requirements and the standards set by corporate policies (ISO 9001, MDS, MQS, RGI Reporting, 4Q Charts).           
  • Identify and evaluate potential improvements to the Quality Management System and implement as appropriate.
