Sr. Tool and Die Repair
Belleville, MI


Our client is a well-established company who is looking to add an experienced and professional Sr. Tool and Die Repair to the team. As part of the team, the Sr. Tool and Die Repair will have the opportunity to step in and make a change by putting a thumbprint on the department’s direction. They will be responsible repairing and troubleshooting line, progressive, and transfer dies, recommend changes in tooling, and maintain tooling that is not performing to standards.

Sr. Tool and Die Repair must have at least 5 years of experience with troubleshooting and repairing line, progressive, or transfer dies

Sr. Tool and Die Repair Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with high-level stampings
  • Must work quickly, efficiently and independently
  • Basic computer skills required, able to learn and use our MRP system Plex
  • Exposure to industry-accepted chemicals and noise
  • Must have own tools
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and 75 lbs. unassisted
  • Able to stand on feet for 8 hours
  • Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and move around the facility

Sr. Tool and Die Repair Description:

  • Analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set up and operate machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot tooling that is not performing to standards
  • Troubleshooting line, progressive, and transfer dies
  • Maintain tools per defined blueprints and work effectively on tooling to support the production schedule
  • Maintain job books to confirm repairs for tooling
  • Surface grinding for PMs and Continuous Improvement projects
  • Notify supervisor of inventories of perishable details and necessary supplies required
  • Recommend changes in tooling, methods or materials for cost effectiveness & to avoid production delays
  • Make necessary adjustments to tooling; ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings
  • Ability to order details and update Plex system on tooling updates/status
  • Keep benches and work areas clean and presentable at all times
  • Comply with Employee Conduct and Safety rules
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
