Systems Administrator 
Farmington Hills, MI 

Summary:

Our client is a successful Managed Service Provider looking to add an experienced Systems Administrator to the team. As part of the team, the Systems Administrator will ensure their clients are receiving the appropriate assistance. This includes the responsibility of managing all procedures related to the identification, prioritization, and resolution of Client service requests, including the monitoring, tracking, and coordination of Systems Administrator functions. The Systems Administrator will also contribute to problem resolution by providing resolution documentation.

The Systems Administrator must have at least five years of IT experience

Systems Administrator Requirements:

  • Exceptional knowledge of computer hardware, including PC’s, thin clients, servers and printers
  • Deep-seated experience with desktop and server operating systems, including Windows 7 -10 Apple OSX and Windows Server 2008 -2016
  • Extensive application support experience
  • Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities, including MalwareBytes, CCleaner, Symantec, Webroot, and various network & system performance tools i.e. Solar Winds, LabTech
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in the management of a technical support team
  • Proven track record of developing and providing Service Level Agreements and Remote Support deliverables

Systems Administrator Description:

Strategy & Planning

  • Establish and enforce System Administrator Tier I & II service levels agreements in consultation with management to establish problem resolution expectations and timeframes
  • Analyze performance of staff activities and documented resolutions, identify problem areas, and devise and deliver solutions to enhance quality of service and to prevent future problems
  • Plan and conduct performance appraisals for System Administrator Tier I & II staff

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Collaborate with other departments to identify/procure required support software for internal staff and external clients
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of technology procurement and development efforts

Operational Management

  • Manage the processing of incoming calls to Remote Support via telephone, portal and e-mail to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of Client issues
  • Coordinate and/or perform remote fixes at the desktop/server level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications
  • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution
  • Track and analyze trends in client requests and generate statistical reports
  • Assess need for any system reconfigurations (minor or significant) based on request trends and make recommendations
  • Identify, recommend, develop, and implement Client training programs to increase computer literacy and self-sufficiency
  • Oversee development and dissemination of help sheets, usage guides, and FAQ lists for end users
  • Manage team to ensure all tickets are adequately documented and work time is entered, and ticket is properly closed
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and administration of System Administrator Tier training procedures and policies
