Transportation Buyer

South Haven, MI


Our client is the leading supplier of anti-vibration solutions for the global automotive and commercial vehicle industries and they are looking to add experienced and professional Transportation Buyer to their team. The Transportation Buyer will be responsible for implementing 4PL solutions, creating and negotiating RFQ packages and close contracts for transportation and logistics services.

The Transportation Buyer must have experience negotiating contracts for fright, material handling equipment, or packaging at a corporate level.

Transportation Buyer Requirements:

  • BS in technical field preferred
  • Three years’ experience in purchasing, logistics or transportation
  • Understands transportation pricing
  • Experience working with 3PL’s/4PL’s
  • Previous experience with a transportation company preferred
  • Cost calculation, freight sales, and SAP experience

Transportation Buyer Description:

  • Coordinate purchasing of transports for all North America plants
  • Contact for 4PL’s and logistic companies
  • Tender for and analyze transportation demand
  • Assist with the coordination of transport demand between plants. Negotiation with suppliers
  • Frame contracts for transport and logistic
  • Participate by the optimization of transport lines, hubs, and packaging including returnable
  • Setup calculation form for DAP deliveries to customers
