Vice President of Workforce Management

Summary:
Our client is a growing company who is looking to hire an innovative Vice President of Workforce Management. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP of Workforce Management will play an integral role in leading a small team in overseeing and leading the administration of workforce planning and staffing of an organization with over 5,000 employees and in ensuring effective management of labor costs, optimizing resources, and driving revenue growth across their landscape.  As the Workforce Leader, you will identify, develop, create, implement and manage tools, processes and systems to enable effective field management of labor, including both management of wage rates for new and existing employees and managing hours to ensure proper service delivery while ensuring efficiencies.  

Vice President of Workforce Management ideally will have experience working in a retail or multi-site environment.

Vice President of Workforce Management Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience in similar geographically-dispersed retail or service industries heavily reliant on hourly labor
  • 10+ years of increasingly responsible leadership experience in the areas of staffing, workforce management and labor
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including a demonstrated ability to synthesize and analyze relevant data and information to make informed recommendations and influence business outcome
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the proven ability to build relationships, lead and influence at all levels of the organization 
  • Demonstrated track record of hiring the right talent, developing and engaging a diverse and high-performing leadership team, succession management, managing performance and driving a culture of accountability
  • Ability to travel within the locations as needed

Vice President of Workforce Management Description:

  • Provide thought leadership and drive continuous improvement to advance workforce planning capabilities
  • Develop a strategic workforce planning strategy, methodologies and tactics to ensure the delivery of staffing to meet the needs of each location and drive exceptional service delivery 
  • Implement best practices for identifying and managing appropriate labor wage rates 
  • Oversee and lead the administration of forecasting and staffing plans 
  • Advise and consult with Senior Management and Field Leadership to refine workforce strategies and plans to meet the changing business needs
  • Develop and implement comprehensive and consistent strategies, tools, and processes related to workforce planning
  • Leverage data and financial analysis, workforce models and innovation to inform and advise regarding wage rates and staffing levels
  • Drive the implementation of technology solutions and tools that deliver accurate, timely and relevant data and insights on all aspects of workforce performance
  • Hire, coach, develop, a small workforce team that supports the locations in a proactive approach to improve performance
